Fallball is an ECSA Open Division slow-pitch softball league for men and women of all skill levels. Teams are typically a random draw of available players with a few exceptions to allow people to play with friends. All players are placed on a team regardless of skill level. Higher rated players from the regular league (A/B divisions) are spread evenly amongst the teams to promote mentoring, as are those players that have a special ability like pitching. This is purely a fun and social league; therefore there are no trophies or World Series Berths. However, some 'fun' awards are given at the end of the season such as "Most spirited team" as well as individual MVP awards. The Fall league is typically made up of about 1/3 players from the Open and Women's Divisions, 1/3 new players, and 1/3 that only play Fallball.
Fallball is traditionally a pick-up league where short-handed teams can borrow from other teams if needed. However, it is recommended that if you can't play the majority of games, then please don't sign-up out of fairness to your teammates.
There will be informal post-game socials at area businesses after the games. There will also be an end-of-season party on the last day of scheduled games where food, beer, and beverages are provided. There will also be a pre-season social the Friday before the first scheduled games.
Registration is done through a PayPal form on the league website. If for some reason you cannot register through the website, please contact the Fallball Director.
If you would like to be added to the email distribution list, please email Josh Wojcik, the Fallball Director, at fallball@seattlegaysoftball.com with your information.
