Greg has been symbol of dedication and given his very best to the Emerald City Softball Association since he started playing in 1993. He has been an exemplary commissioner (four years), player, coach, tournament director, sponsor and ambassador for the Emerald City Softball league. As a leader, teammate, and friend, Greg has been more than you could ask for, always giving 110%, being the ultimate competitor in all aspects of his participation, and bringing out the best in everyone around him.
As a player, Greg’s many All-Star selections, division MVP award, and three MVP nominations speak for themselves. Over the years, he has earned a reputation as a feared hitter in the league. He has also participated in nine World Series and won five team tournament championships.
Greg’s contribution to the ECSA has been invaluable. Serving as the league commissioner for the last four years, lead a league growing to upwards of 25 teams. He has been essential in fostering relationships with overall league sponsors, maintaining those relationships, which provide sponsorship funding for the league as well as our annual tournament. Under his leadership the league grown, promoted fairness, and become a national model for player ratings.
As a coach, Greg commands respect, develops his players, and even offers help and development to anyone from other teams who ask. His unselfish attitude and time commitment has provided opportunities for many to develop and add to the ECSA.
Off the field, after participating as a member of the Port of Seattle Aids Walk team for three years, Greg established the ECSA Aids Walk team, assembling a team that has raised over $37,000 for the Lifelong AIDS Alliance over the last two years.
