Want to Join the Emerald City Softball Association?
Our focus is to provide a softball league that includes GLBT and non GLBT members and creates a unique community of excellence, sportsmanship & acceptance for playing softball. Membership in ECSA is open to anyone 18 years of age or older. We have a place in ECSA for all levels of softball players from advanced to players who have never played before. In general we have an A Division for players with advanced skills, B Division for players with Intermediate skills, C Division for players with good softball skills and D Division is for beginners and players with limited softball skills.
We welcome new teams each year and anyone is welcome to form a team and join ECSA. Contact our Membership Director for information and requirements for joining as a team. The deadline for new teams joining ECSA is around the beginning of March each year.
If you are not on a team and are interested in joining a team we have several ways to help you make that happen.

2. Post an ad on our Team Matchmaker (website registration required)

Skills Assessment Practices
Skills Assessment practices are conducted in February and March to help new, current and returning players locate teams that are looking to add players to their rosters. The Assessment is broken up into 3 sections (hitting, throwing and fielding). For new players there will be evaluators in each section observing and determining which Division of ECSA is appropriate for you. There will be representatives from teams that are looking for players there and they will have a moment to introduce themselves and give a pitch about their teams.
When the Skills Assessment practice is completed, the players and teams will have an opportunity to talk and make connections. Following the Skills Assessment, there will be a social get together at one of the local ECSA team sponsor locations. A softball glove is required. Cleats and an athletic protector are optional, but recommended.
Our goal is to find everyone who wants to play a team to play on. If we find that teams are full and we still have 10 to 15 potential players who have not found a team we work to try and put together a new team for them to play on.
Our Membership Director is available to help in any way for placing players on teams and helping teams find players.
