Open League Team & Player of the Week

Teams of the Week

Award Vendetta

Open League B Division

The Vendetta were Vierce this weekend. We lost to the Shock by 1 run and then beat the undefeated Pilots in the next game by 10 runs.

I proudly nominate the Seattle Vendetta for Team of the Week because of the solid play, sportsmanship, and heart shown on the field this past week. The team had hot bats, made amazing plays in the field, and put in 2 amazing games against division rivals.

Award Wolves

Open League D Division

I’m nominating the Wolves for Team of the Week due to their great play this weekend. They won both their games and did it with style. In their first game they played stellar defense allowing the Rogues to score in only one inning. They worked hard in the second game and played a tougher than expected Rebels squad, but kept their composure and pulled out a win 11- 10. They worked hard as a team, and really pulled for each other, and it made a big difference. Go Wolves.

Players of the Week

Award Bobbie Bautista

Open League B Division

Bobbie played Viercely against the Pilots and made a stellar out at third with the help from a throw from Rodger Lopez in right center.

I proudly nominate Bobby Bautista of the Seattle Vendetta for player of the week after both a strong offensive and defensive showing this past weekend. Against division rivals the Shock and the Pilots, Bobby went 4-6 at the plate, while also making critical defensive stops at both SS and 3B that kept runners from advancing.

Award Joseph "Cookie" Fields

Open League C Division

Cookie stepped in to lead the Thrusters to a win against the Toros, with excellent plays at third base, a double play, and reaching base in every appearance.

Cookie doesn't get a whole lot of playing time on the field. So far this season he has only played in two games and we have yet to have our bye week. Yesterday Cookie was put in at 3rd base for our game vs. the Toro's. Cookie made an out at third base, diving for an over thrown ball and still making the out. Then later he successfully made a double play at third, throwing to second base. When he is not playing he is constantly a positive voice in the dugout and assisting his team through words of encouragement. Nomination by Rusty Martin

Award Thunder

Open League C Division

(Team Nomination) In Thunder's 2 wins this week, several players had multiple hits in both games and everyone had at least one hit. The team also played excellent defense with great communication on the field and in the dugout.

Award Jim Williams

Open League D Division

Jim had a fantastic day at the plate with several hits that include three solid hit triples. He also pitched another win for the Pirates in his first year of pitching.
